The Graph is an indexing protocol for querying networks like Ethereum and IPFS. Anyone can build and publish open APIs, called subgraphs, making data easily accessible.
The three primary protocol roles of The Graph are Indexers, Delegators, and Curators. Badgeth rewards noteworthy behavior for each of these protocol roles. In addition, Badgeth recognizes the Subgraph Developers who create the open APIs that underlie The Graph's decentralized ecosystem.
Indexers stake Graph Tokens (GRT) to participate in The Graph's Decentralized Network as Graph Node operators. Indexers earn rewards for indexing and serving queries on subgraphs via a Graph Node.
Delegators
Delegators stake GRT on behalf of an Indexer in order to earn a portion of Indexer rewards and fees, without having to personally manage a Graph Node.
Curators
Curators use GRT to signal what subgraphs are valuable to index. These will typically be developers and share their motivations but could also be end users supporting a valuable service they rely upon or a persona that is purely financially motivated.
